Crestwood High School students Fatima Hojeij and Alia Hamadi pass water sample bottles collected from the Rouge River Oct. 13. Over 500 students from local southeast Michigan schools conducted chemical tests, examined aquatic life, and surveyed the Rouge River. The students efforts are apart of their participation in the Rouge Education Project, a program coordinated by the non-profit the Friends of the Rouge.

ParishBarryArrgn27: Jacob Parish, 18, of Dearborn, and John Barry, 16, of Dearborn Heights look to family members in the audience during their arraignment Friday for homicide charges and in connection with the death of James Alexander Kozicki, 19, of Dearborn on Oct. 4. 19th District Court Judge Mark Somers ordered them held without bail until their preliminary hearing Oct. 22. It is alleged that the defendants robbed the victim and when the 18-year-old defendant drove the car from the scene the victim was dragged by the vehicle.  At approximately two Dearborn police officers responded to South Lafayette and Rockford and discovered the severely injured victim on the sidewalk of South Lafayette.  Mr. Kozicki was taken to a local hospital where he died from injuries he sustained.

Dearborn police and detectives question a person of interest after a shooting incident on Mead near Tireman Wednesday. No one was injured after a resident called police to report two men with guns invaded his home, then neighbors reported several gunshots in the area.

An FBI agent walks past police tape where Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah was killed in a hail of FBI gunfire last October during a sting operation inside an agency secure warehouse in Dearborn. The shooting took place in the trailer in the background after Abdullah took shelter there. According to the newly released report by Attorney General Mike Cox he was shot by agents after he was attacked by a police dog and then shot the dog.
