With flags and banners about 300 demonstrators marked the 63rd anniversary of what Palestinians call Al Nakba, or the catastrophe, Sunday at Dearborn City Hall. The commemoration marks the time when thousands of Palestinians were forced from their towns and homes during the formation of the state of Israel in 1948.

Mary Bracey and “Sarabi” lead a line of dog walkers and walking dogs through west Dearborn Saturday for the Mutt Strut that draws hundreds of pet lovers to Ford Field for the annual fundraiser for the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Students from Dearborn High School Student Video Program make a movie every year. This year’s project, likely their largest ever, is "Saint's Cove" and is a murder mystery involving a fishing camp. The crew of actors, directors, camera operators, lighting and sound techs with dozens of extras filled Dylan’s Restaurant in Grosse Point Woods in March to shoot scenes from the movie that will open at the Michael A. Guido Theater May 25 and 26.

Ronnie Matthews, 18, and Tanaka Wells, 19, enter Judge Richard Wygonik’s 19th District courtroom in March as their preliminary exam was postponed in the charges with of felony murder and three counts of armed robbery at Sunrise Beauty Supply in east Dearborn.

Dearborn High’s Anna Stassen edges Divine Child’s Mackenzie Brewis for first place in the 1600-meter run May 13 at the All-Area Track Meet.

Divine Child’s Christina Colarossi will be the undefeated top seed at one singles at the coming regional competition.
