When Miss USA Rima Fakih arrives at La Pita for a luncheon in her honor in July she proudly displays a sign given to her by Mayor Jack O’Reilly that will be displayed on welcome signs at city entrances.

Athena Sterlini gets a tour of her rebuilt house from grandson Danny in August. Joe Kadaf, Broker and Owner of Remax Leading Edge had paid for the rehabilitation of Sterlini’s residence that had suffered water damage and became seriously infested with mold causing her health to deteriorate.

The Whitmore Bolles synchronized swim team does a back dive into the water in July during the annual exhibition at Dunworth Pool. They danced and swam to “Arthur” by Arthur and are coached by Andrea Schilbe and Michelle Talasis.

On the first permissible day of high school football practice in August the Fordson team began at precisely . Besides getting a jump on the season, many of the players fasted during the day for Ramadan.
